animeVPS

Motivation

• To provide infrastructure for awesome projects that require a low-end VPS
• To provide a donation-based VPS service for users who aren't willing to pay for a proper VPS
• To learn how to setup a VPS service
• To utilize the unused resources of my Digital Ocean Droplet
• To partially recover the cost incurred for my Digital Ocean Droplet and my domain name

Specification

• Alpine Linux in LXC Container(requires 8MiB swappable memory+30MiB HDD)
• 120Mhz vCPU
• 128 processes
• 24MiB RAM + 112MiB SSD Swap
• 300MiB HDD(290MiB after deducting ext2 overhead)
• 48Mbps networking(May be limited by CPU bottleneck)
• 15 IPv4 open ports + 1 SSH port
• Web domain names forwardable by contacting admin(reverse proxy)
• Additional resources requestable

Pricing

• Suggested donation for non-subsidized users: >US$5/year
• Users are recommended to try it out before making donation
• Donation is highly desirable for satisfactory service
• No fixed donation cycle. Donations can be postponed
• It's OK not to donate if this service is useless to the user
• Users of interesting projects who are unable to donate are subsidized
• Donate as you wish. Please contact me if you're interested in donating to me. :)

Status

• The current design can accommodate 16 users
• To free up resources for new users, when there are ≥15 users, the service of users without an active project being hosted will be terminated after a month of grace period.
• There are currently 13 users.

• If you have an interesting project, feel free to contact me to request a VPS
• Active LBR ##anime users are highly likely to be offered our service
• Feel free to ask for subsidy if aren't able to make donation for whatever reason

Rules

1. Comply with Digital Ocean ToS
2. Illegal materials are strictly prohibited
3. Hosting seedbox, open proxy, tor exit node and other risky services are prohibited
4. All networking activities originate from this VPS must comply with the rules of external communities because a ban resulted from your use of this VPS may affect all other users here
   • For example, do not run a bot in LBR anime without explicit permission from the ops
5. Please don't do anything else with the VPS that could cause problem to the hoster or other VPS users
6. This is not an exhaustive list of rules. Bans can be made under the discretion of the hoster
